Club Development

The club presently is a football club, sharing the Football Associations vision that football can make a positive difference to people’s lives. We now aim to spread our good work further into other sporting disciplines.

We are a non-profit making Community football club based in the West Midlands, giving local children the opportunity to take part in organised sport, and also play a part in the development of their own personal values, beliefs and responsibilities to the people in the area in which they live.

Established with just one team in 1986 as Cock Juniors, we adopted the name of the area we lived in 1987 with the birth of what we now know as Rubery Juniors Football Club. The club rose to the status of FA Charter Standard in 2004 and we now possesses no less than 27 Football Association Qualified Coaches, 27 Qualified First Aid personnel, alongside 28 Fully Qualified Child Protection Officers. We now seek to achieve the highest achievable status as we apply for FA Charter Community Club during 2006/2007 season

We at Rubery Juniors are totally committed to each and every Man, Woman or Child that represents our club, irrespective of how successful a team may or may not be. Our club motto of Football for kids, whatever the result, sums up the club’s position on children who are the most integral part of this organisation.

We acknowledge that the game of football is our national sport, and try our best to develop the playing skills for our members through the qualified coaches we have here at Rubery.

That said, it is far more important to us that a player enjoys the game as it was originally designed to do, and that the boy, girl, man or woman develops into a person who can hold their head high in whichever community they live.

Being part of a club like ours helps develop many skills that are vital to growing up. Social, communication, team building, respect and honesty are just a few of the skills that we try to impress on our members which will surely see them in good stead for their future. To do all this we rely on many people involved within the club, from the volunteer that serves the tea in the Clubhouse to the Chairman of this progressing club.

Our mission is:
“To enhance the lives of our members and people in our community by harnessing the power of sport, providing first class facilities and support to children and adults of any age, sex, ethnic or religious origin or belief.”
Our aim as a club is not just to secure for the future our very own permanent home, but to provide Boys, Girls, Men and Women alike with a place to take part in sport within a safe and secure environment. Also give them as they mature in age here at the club, a community of their very own to continue to enjoy throughout their lifetime.
