MAN OF THE MATCH
Dean Conway (tireless) Dom said!

Rubery had no game this week so organised a friendly against opponents from 4 divisions above. Rubery dominated three quarters of the game and were very unlucky to be 1-0 down at half-time. Proving that the higher the level, the more you will be punished for lapses, one player unmarked left to finish neatly from a cross. Rubery had made 4 changes on the half hour and yet the tempo they created was still superb. HT1-0
The good performance continued into the second half but Rubery were undone again with a lapse of concentration albeit the right footed half volley finish from AG's right winger was superb. This player continued to cause Rubery many problems in the second half. Eventually AG scrambled in a third which finally irritated the Rubery players and signalled a ten minute onslaught resulting in a tap in finish for Peter Adams from a Patrick Kelly effort and then a well taken Stuart Whittaker goal with his first touch excellently knocking it away from his marker and his second driving it inside the post with his left foot.

AG struck again late on hitting Rubery on the counter.
All in all a good performance and with 4 out of 5 games left being at home, surely Rubery are looking at a fourth straight promotion.

REPORT

Rubery applied good early pressure but surprisingly went a goal down against the run of play after a defensive mistake enabled the Handsworth front pair the opportunity to link up well and take the lead. Rubery continued with good pressure but failing with the final pass on numerous occasions. Eventually Conway curled in a superb free kick from the right hand side of the box to draw level. HT 1-1
The second half continued with the same pattern, Rubery now looking like they were missing the pace of the absent Stuart Whittaker. Finally and with ten minutes to go, Conway struck again with a superb 25 yard strike which curled away from the keeper into the top left hand corner. To round off the victory Manger pounced on a loose ball from a corner and drove it into the top right corner with seconds remaining.
